STEAM-AWAY

The STEAM-AWAY uses steam from the evaporator flue pan to evaporate sap in the STEAM-AWAY. Steam makes contact with the under side of the unit and then is routed into pipes inside the heat exchanger. Test results show sap temperatures as high as 200' F. inside the STEAM-AWAY with evapo- ration increased as much as 75%. All sap needed to feed the evaporator comes directly from the STEAM-AWAY unit, no raw sap is fed directly into flue pan.

These units are designed for the Sugar Maker with 50 to 200 taps. The evaporator, consisting of a drop flue boiling pan and a flat finishing pan, is made of stainless steel. The Pleasure Model uses the Leader Special regulating system and- the King Jr. has an external regulating box similar to the King automatic sap regulator. The standard of manufacture is the same as our larger units.

This deluxe unit is designed for the Sugar Maker that has 50 to 100 taps. It consists of one stainless steel pan 23" x 48" with two sec- tions. The back section is 23" x 24" and contains 71/2" deep drop flues, circulating partitions and sap regulator. The front finishing off section is also 23" x 24" and is divided into two compartments for sugaring off on either side. The arch is made in the same way as the larger units.

Our 2 x 6 Lightning Evaporator is built just like our larger commercial models. The 2 x 4 flue pan has 71/2" flues. The arch is built for 2' wood. The syrup pan is 2'x 21. A great unit for producers with up to 250 taps.

LEADER HALF PINT

Ideal for the backyard sugar maker with 15 to 50 taps, this dandy little unit has been redesigned and improved to make oper- .ation easier and more efficient.

The evaporator pan is made of stainless steel and divided into four sections. A reservoir pan allows for manually feeding pre- heated sap into the evaporator pan while maintaining boil.

The redesigned arch is made from 18 gauge black iron with cast iron door and steel legs. The new draft control and grate sys- tem allow for faster, hotter fires. A steel collar is attached to the back of the arch to accommodate a standard 6" smoke stack (not included).

Special formula developed for removing sugar sand from syrup pans (not recommended for flue pans). Add I gallon of Pan Cleaner to 40 gallons of water, start a moderate fire and simmer for one hour; then brush freely while solution is still hot.

The arch is designed to be bricked using standard 1/2 or full fire bricks (not included).

This unit is shipped standard UPS and comes with easy to fol- low instructions. No special tools are required and assembly takes about 1/2 hour.

More than 80% of the entire heating surface of the Vermont Evaporator is fabricated into corrugations or flues.

The three-pan evaporator is made up of the heater or flue pan, the syrup pan and the corrugated front pan. These pans are connected with a free flow- ing - no drip simple hose connection protected by stainless steel clamps.

The corrugated front pan is fabricated into two and a half inch deep cor- rugations, which gives more heating surface.
